Dinner With The Parents

Aaron and I had my parents over for dinner tonight. It was kind of interesting.

I've had my parents over for dinner before but I still can't help but feel a little odd. I mean, I still feel like everything needs to be prefect. I can't help but feel like they are scrutinizing everything in the place. I know they aren't doing that at all, but still...

I don't know, perhaps it's all in my head. Or perhaps it's that I'm still adjusting to being married.

Parents can freak you out no matter how old you get. I'm a grown-ass man, and last year my dad gave me a look and I was suddenly sixteen again trying to make sure he couldn't smell booze on my breath. Get used to it. It may not get better.

My mother came over once and checked the doorframes for dust. Parents will always be parents. lol

no - thats totally normal. I always did that when Daniel and I had them over. That's why I seriously slaved over my Martha Stwart-esque Thanksgiving a couple years ago.

Wow... thanks everyone. I'm comforted that I'm not alone, but not at all at the same time. Ah well, at least I know it's not all in my head. :)
